I feel about this the same way I do about left brain or right brain. I am both analytical and creative; a thinker and a feeler. However, I am motivated by my heart most of the time.

Verse 7 and the reading from Ephesians 3 affirms that the heart is dominant in our relationship with God, “The Lord’s my strength and shield; I’m helped as my heart trusts in Him. For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, My heart does leap for joy, and I give thanks to Him in song” and from Ephesians “that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God”(Ephesians 3:14-19).

I think where we get into trouble is when we let our emotions or feelings get in the way of our heart and mind. This often causes me to act contrary to my heart or to think and behave irrationally. The solution is that Christ dwells in your heart and that you be rooted and grounded in love. Lord let it be so with me!
