We all know how good it feels to retire a debt. Whether it be paying off a vehicle, credit card, or some other loan. How much greater of a feeling is it that someone else paid the debt for what I could never pay up on!!! It’s hard for me to fully comprehend and wrap my head around, but wow just wow….. To be loved on the level is something I struggle to express with words.

I believe the metaphor of being in debt/bankrupt does shed light and expose the nature of sin- and the gravity of the consequence. Ultimately allowing us to receive by grace through faith salvation in Christ. Do you struggle to confess the bankruptcy of your soul? I think so, I think it’s human natire(sinful) to “compare” our wrong doings and sinful acts to others and convince our inner self that “we are not that bad”, having a sense of pride and not dealing with or facing the reality that we are in need broken and in need of a savior, Jesus- as he had paid it all. Praise God
