O’Malley introduces each of the eight presidents in terms of the era from which he came and his own faith journey and call to ministry. The history begins with founder H. C. Morrison’s vision of a theological school that would be loyal to the Bible while preparing Spirit-filled and sanctified preachers to go into all the world. The author traces the challenges and successes of each administration. About the Author
J . Steven O’Malley is the John T. Seamands Professor of Wesleyan Holiness History at Asbury Theological Seminary, an ordained elder in the United Brethren Evangelical/United Methodist Church. He resides in Lexington, Kentucky, with his wife and family. He was educated at the University of Indianapolis, Yale University, and Drew University (PhD), where he also taught and served as guest lecturer in residence. Serving as professor at two universities and three seminaries in the United States, he has also been a frequent lecturer and guest pastor in Europe. Author of eleven volumes and numerous articles, he is the recipient of several scholarly awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Wesleyan Theological Society (2017).
