For the Body: Recovering a Theology of Gender, Sexuality and the Human Body
The purpose of this workshop is to explore our response to challenges related to human sexuality. The goal is to equip you to be known not just for what we are against, but what we are for – the grand Christian vision of the body. The workshop will explore a wide range of topics including, homosexual behavior, same sex attraction, the purpose of the body, and gender reassignment. Based on the book, For the Body, Seedbed author and Asbury Seminary President will explore and interact about many of the most pressing issues of our day related to human sexuality and gender identity. Participants will receive a copy of the For the Body hardback book and lunch will be provided on site.
The Deeply Formed Life: A Spiritual Formation Paradigm for this Generation
In this pre-conference, Rich Villodas will offer a robust, integrated framework for spiritual formation that holds together the values of contemplative rhythms, racial justice, interior examination, sexual wholeness, and missional presence. You will gain a theology to engage these areas, and a few practices to help you get started on the journey. The framework you will be exposed to comes out of Rich’s award-winning book, The Deeply Formed Life. Participants will receive a copy of the book and lunch will be provided on site.
