There are tons of books on Christian parenting. A quick internet search will produce a near endless number of results. While many of these books are immensely helpful, very few address one of the most critical aspects of family faith—the role of discipleship in shaping children’s lives.

Perhaps you’re new to the idea of family discipleship. It’s simple, really. Family discipleship is when parents help their children become disciples of Jesus Christ in the home through reading the Bible, praying, worshiping, and doing missions together. It starts in our marriages, by loving our spouses with the love of Christ. It happens by teaching, loving, and sharing our faith with our children.

Written for families of all ages and backgrounds, Grow at Home unpacks these ideas with a practical guide to family discipleship. When we bring the gospel back in the home, it will spread through our neighborhoods and into the communities where we live. Let the journey begin!

“Loving this book! So practical and honest! Reminding of things I need to hear and giving me ideas to disciple my kids in ways I had not considered. Thanks, Winfield Bevins, for sharing and writing this! It is so right on. I feel many my age would still be in the faith had this been practiced when we were kids.”

“As a Christian man, husband, and dad of four children, I have the responsibility along with my wife, to raise our children in a loving and faithful way. Grow at Home gives families a picture of what the Christian faith lived out in the home looks like. This concept of bringing faith back into the home puts God first and lays a solid foundation of faith for children and parents as we live in an ever chaotic world. Grow at Home is not a new ‘program,’ but a reminder to share our faith with others. This begins in the home and extends into our neighborhoods, communities, and out into the world we live. When this happens, we are able to live out Jesus’s command to make disciples. I have already recommended and plan to continue to recommend it to others in an effort to put God first and bring faith back into the home where it is developed in the hearts, souls, and minds of children and parents alike.”
